Hartland is a professional pickleball athlete and coach, born and raised in Raleigh, NC. He attended Ravenscroft High School and played college lacrosse at Catawba College. He is also a member of Team USA handball.
With a love for high level sports, he found professional pickleball in 2020. Hartland has competed on both the APP and PPA tours with his highest ranking peaking at 35 in the world in singles, and 55 in mixed doubles.
He also has a passion for coaching, as he previously was the Head of Pickleball at the Daniel Island Club in Charleston, SC. He is a PPR certified coach and has been coaching pickleball for 3+ years.
With over four years immersed in the fast-paced world of pickleball and boasting experience as an instructor and pro at PinPoint, Hunter has honed his skills to compete at the highest level, gracing 5.0 tournaments with my presence.
Leveraging over a year of coaching, he dedicates a substantial 25-30 hours weekly to drilling and play, ensuring both personal mastery and the development of those under his guidance.
His commitment to the sport runs deep, as he strives to continually elevate the standard of play and nurture the next generation of pickleball enthusiasts.
Justin grew up a lover of sports, playing everything from high school football to competing with NC State’s collegiate swim team in 2015. He began coaching swimming in 2010 and coached until 2018.
He began competing both recreationally and competitively in pickleball in 2022, quickly increasing in skill and his DUPR score. His passion for the sport grew into a desire to teach and help others learn how to excel in the sport. He began coaching both group and private pickleball lessons over the last two years, and has had many repeat clients. He is incredibly dedicated to the sport and prides himself on meeting all clients where they are within their pickleball journey.
In his free time, he enjoys watching PPA tournaments, playing video games, and spending time with his girlfriend and two cats.
